Racing Toward a Greener Future

At the Motorcycle Sports Federation of Kenya (MSFK), we recognize that the thrill of racing must go hand in hand with responsibility to our environment, to our communities, and to future generations.

That’s why sustainability is embedded into everything we do from how we design events, to how we train riders, and how we engage with the land we ride on.

The Green Rider Movement

MSFK is proud to champion the Green Rider Movement a call to action for all riders, clubs, and partners to ride with respect, race with care, and lead with awareness.

Inspired by international best practices and adapted for the Kenyan context, the Green Rider philosophy promotes:

  • Environmental stewardship at events and during training

  • Eco-conscious rider behavior on and off the track

  • Club accountability in land use, waste management, and track design

  • Community partnership with local conservation efforts

Our Focus Areas

1. Sustainable Event Practices

  • Clear waste management and recycling plans for each event

  • Plastic-free paddocks and hydration zones

  • Designated green zones and protected buffer areas around race venues

  • No littering, illegal washing, or oil dumping by riders or support teams

2. Education & Rider Responsibility

  • All MSFK-licensed riders receive the Green Rider Briefing

  • Clubs and officials promote eco-riding and conservation protocols

  • Visibility materials (banners, leaflets, stickers) shared at every event

🚫 3. Protection of Natural Ecosystems

  • No unauthorized riding in forests, reserves, or wetlands

  • Promotion of track restoration after events

  • Coordination with county governments and KWS for access and impact mitigation

4. Offsetting & Eco-Volunteering

  • Tree planting and clean-up events organized with each championship

  • Support for youth eco-ambassadors and school-based education

  • “Ride for Nature” community rides to raise awareness and funds for conservation

Our Commitments

MSFK is committed to:

  • Making all national championship events waste-neutral by 2026

  • Training all riders and clubs in sustainability principles by 2025

  • Aligning our operations with the FIM Environmental Code

  • Championing track access agreements that protect biodiversity

We believe that motorcycling and nature can co-exist with the right values, leadership, and discipline.
